Thai Turkey Burgers with Broccoli Slaw

When I first made this recipe for Amanda she was apprehensive. “Thai food and turkey burgers do not go.”

As a matter of fact they do–very well! So well that Amanda can’t imagine turkey burgers any other way!!

I found this recipe on Tastespotting (my place to go for mouth watering food pics and recipe links).

The picture of these burgers took me to a site called Pass The Sushi

And heres what it told us!

For Turkey Burgers

1/2 cup of bread crumbs
1 egg
1 lb of ground turkey or chicken
1 carrot, shredded
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teas ginger, grated
1 teas chili paste
2 tbs cilantro, finely chopped
2 scallions, finely diced
juice of 1 lime
1 teas of lime zest
1 teas red curry powder
Salt and pepper

Combine all these ingredients together then grill or bake! We like to bake them at 375 for 18 minutes on each side!

Broccoli Slaw

1 bag broccoli slaw fixins
1/4 cup mayo
juice of 1 lime
bunch of cilantro
1 tbsp chili paste
1 teas of sesame oil
salt and pepper

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 20 minutes so that the flavors mingle before serving.

We like to to use a bit less mayo and a little less chili paste.
