Quinoa – What is it and how to make it?

To us Quinoa is essentially the substance of our lives. It tastes like a grain and works like a protein- what could be better?

It’s relatively new to the U.S. diet. This makes it a bit intimidating for newcomers. But have no fear: it’s delicious and easy to make!

Ingredients:

1. 1 cup of Quinoa

2. 2 cups of liquid (Water, Chicken, or Veggie Broth)

3. Pinch of Salt and Pepper or other spices for tasting

Directions:

1. Place liquid in sauce pan and bring to boil (Quinoa can be added before or after boil)

2. Pour in Quinoa

3. Keep liquid on low heat and cover pan

4. After 10-15 minutes the outer shells of the quinoa should be falling off as the liquid is absorbed.

5. When all the shells are off and the liquid is fully absorbed let cool and enjoy!

This could be eaten plain or used in many other delicious recipes that we will be featuring in the future.
